Bletilla Ochracea yellow rare orchid, available again

After several months of shortage, the rare orchid Bletilla ochracea is again available at Phytesia

Unlike most hardy orchids that prefer cool and moist places, orchids of the genus Bletilla tolerate full sun.

The ideal planting time is autumn. The bulbs will develop their new shoots from April. A bouquet of long sheets is then introduced.

The ocher yellow flowers appear in summer, they are in number 6 to 10, worn in loose spikes along the flower stem. Having enlivened the garden for about one month, the flowers disappear, but not the foliage. At least not right away; it fades in November. The plant then completely disappears from view and its pseudo-bulb goes dormant until the following spring.
